The founders of La Quinta Capital more than 60 years of combined investment banking and institutional sales experience. In addition to our investment banking activities, we founded E-privates. Launched in 2000, E-privates was an early player in the then emerging Internet-based financial service sector. It was created to aid in the syndication and sale of private placement and partnership investments. E-privates listed client offering summaries and investor package materials on its website for distribution to a user base comprised of several hundred regional broker/dealers. Prior to being sold to Direct Bond Market in 2001, E-privates hosted a wide variety of private placement listings that resulted in extensive product participation by its users.
La Quinta Capital represents the natural evolution of our careers by combining previous investment banking and web-based finance platform experiences. This has led to the assemblage and integration of our sizeable institutional buy-side database into a searchable tool that matches relevant client investment parameters to a list of probable lenders and/or investors. We are then able to instantly message and send investment summaries and related deal materials to selected accounts, comprised of commercial banks, insurance companies, money managers, REITS, and hedge funds. We believe this process creates an important value-added proposition that adds efficiency to the financing process of our clients.
Rick Sleight, Founder. Rick has over 40 years of mortgage related experience. He entered the financial industry in 1968 and held various institutional mortgage sales positions with Citibank, Lehman Brothers, Dillon Read and William Blair before starting his own firm. In 1991 Rick founded Coast Partners Securities to create a pipeline for the eventual securitization of FHA Title One loans and other single-family mortgage second trust deeds. Over an eight-year period, Coast securitized and sold over 2 billion dollars worth of second mortgage loans. Rick also helped to create a correspondent lending program for the product. Coast Partners become one of the largest aggregators of this product in the country. His recent projects include the sale and securitization of $42mm commercial loans for the country of Belize and a $72 mm project for the financing of Sprint PCS towers in Oklahoma.
Rick graduated from Miami University with a degree in Psychology and was commissioned in the U.S. Navy upon graduation. He served with Underwater Demolition Team 11 in Vietnam and then served as a Basic Underwater Demolition/Seal instructor until the completion of his tour of duty.

Bob Elliott, Founder. Bob is an investment professional with more than thirty years of industry experience. Over his career, Bob has served in a variety of positions that include: president, chief financial officer, financial principal, investment banker and institutional sales while licensed at various regional broker/dealers. Bob’s investment banking and institutional sales background includes municipal bond offerings, corporate private placements and registered equity offerings. Bob has extensive experience in developing cash flow analysis models and other financial valuation modeling tools. Other related finance and business development experience includes: acquisition advisor to a major pharmaceutical company; development of a patient self-pay finance program; development of a wireless communications application for patient medical non-compliance; and the development of a specialty equity mortgage finance program.

Rick Slusher, Regional Manager for Idaho, Nevada, Utah, Montana, and Wyoming. Rick has over 30 years of financial services experience including both traditional and non-traditional financing. He was the President of Capital Financial Corporation, which included development of proprietary products and automated delivery systems providing financial risk and capital preservation solutions to the business owner community; including a distribution network of 300 plus field representatives, resulting in $14 million in annual revenue.
Rick offers clients his personal diverse background of individual business ownership, personal real estate investments, as a unique creative financial partner. His business philosophy provides financing for business and investment as a core business, including a mind-full approach of alternative factors for consideration to preserve capital.
He served with the Air National Guard 151st / C-130 unit assignments including heavy airlift support to Vietnam and staging areas.

Betsy Lewis, Marketing Director. Betsy has had a diverse financial and marketing background which began in Southern California with Merrill Lynch and Drexel Burnham Brokerage firms. Later, she acquired experience in new account acquisitions at BBDO West Advertising and then at Disney Studios where she marketed animation movies. She also has title experience as well as seven years experience in the mortgage industry as a loan originator and processor. In Betsy’s spare time, she writes and is the published author of a children’s story book, Rainbow Eyes, and hosts a weekly blog talk radio show.

Paul Dribin, HUD Mulit-Family Financing Specialist. Paul has almost 40 years experience in the housing and urban development arena. During most of that time he was in leadership positions with The US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). He has worked in Chicago, Columbus Ohio, Milwaukee, Grand Rapids, and St. Louis.
Of most importance, Paul was Multifamily Director of Multifamily Housing in St. Louis. In this position, he was responsible for leading the HUD division that underwrote and asset managed FHA/HUD multifamily loans. The type of projects insured included apartments, nursing homes, assisted living, and affordable housing. Paul was recognized as a national expert on HUD programs and was frequently consulted by policy makers in Washington. Paul’s work was responsible for major redevelopment efforts in the St. Louis area.
Upon retirement from HUD, Paul founded Dribin Consulting. This firm specializes in brokering FHA apartment loans, grant writing, tax credit financing, and the development of Workforce Housing. His clients have included major for profit and not for profit developers.
Paul graduated from Roosevelt University with a BA in Political Science, and from The University of Wisconsin Madison with an MA in Political Science. He has also completed course work at The Kennedy School of Public Policy at Harvard University.

Katy O'Malley, Loan Processor. Katy is a licensed real estate professional with experience in loan origination, underwriting and processing for both residential and commercial real estate transactions. She is extremely detailed oriented and has successfully developed the deal tracking and document management skills necessary to assure efficient and seamless loan processing for even the most complex files. Prior to working in real estate lending, Katy spent 12 years in the aerospace industry working for The Aerospace Corporate and Boeing as an international exhibit manager and B2B client relationship manager.
Katy is a graduate of San Diego State University with a degree in Psychology. Katy is a dedicated mom and has two children, ages 10 and 12.
